Revision 1.0: Restored the independent contribution and wealth boundaries of Neo's technical co-founder. (2026-08-31)

Neo’s official contributor history identifies Zhang and Da Hongfei as co-founders of the project originally called Antshares. Zhang is associated with core engineering and the dBFT consensus design, while Da carried more of the public, financing, and ecosystem role. Treating either person as the sole founder loses that division of labor. Neo contributors Neo GitHub

The public record supports technical labor and a founder relationship to the project, but does not disclose a complete employment history, founding cap table, token wallet map, sales, or liabilities. Foundation reserves and project treasury are governed assets, not automatically Zhang’s property; NEO market capitalization is not personal wealth.

Zhang’s technical co-founder status is high-confidence. Claims about inherited resources, exact founder proceeds, or current net worth should remain unanswered unless primary records emerge.
